国費奨学金とは What is MEXT Scholarship?

国費奨学金とは、日本政府（文部科学省）から支給される奨学金のことです。本学に在籍している期間は、毎月約１２万円～１４万円の奨学金が支給されます。（プログラムによって金額は異なります）また、年間の授業料・入学金・受験料が免除されるほか、渡日・帰国の航空券が支給されます。（空港税等の一部の料金は学生負担となります。）

The MEXT Scholarship is a scholarship provided by the Japanese government (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology). During your enrollment at our university, you will receive a monthly scholarship of approximately ¥120,000 to ¥140,000 (the amount varies depending on the program). Also, annual tuition, admission fees, and examination fees are waived, and round-trip airfare to and from Japan is provided. (Airport taxes and certain other fees are the responsibility of the student. )

大使館推薦／大学推薦 Embassy Recommendation / University Recommendation

この奨学金を希望する人は、大使館推薦または大学推薦の２つの方法で応募することになります。

Applicants for this scholarship must apply through either the Embassy recommendation track or the University recommendation track.

大使館推薦 Embassy Recommendation

海外にある日本国大使館(または総領事館)を通じて応募するものを「大使館推薦」といいます。応募者は、居住する国の日本国大使館等在外公館へ申込を行い、在外公館による試験を通過する必要があります。応募条件や、必要書類、スケジュールについてはお住まいの国・地域の在外公館へ確認してください。

Applications submitted through the Japanese embassy (or Consulate General) are referred to as “Embassy Recommendation.” Applicants must apply to the Japanese embassy (or consulate general) in their country of residence and pass their screening process. Please confirm the application requirements, necessary documents, and schedule with the Japanese embassy (or Consulate General).

大学推薦 University Recommendation

日本の大学と大学間交流協定等のある海外の大学を通じて募集を行うものを「大学推薦」といいます。募集は、千葉大学と大学間交流協定等のある大学の出身の学生にのみ行われます。まずはご自分の大学が、千葉大学と協定を結んでいるかどうかを確認しましょう。応募条件やスケジュールは、プログラムによって異なるため、詳細は以下の「各プログラムについて」をご覧ください。

Applications submitted via overseas universities that have student exchange agreements with Japanese universities are referred to as "University Recommendation". Applications are open only to students from universities that have a student-exchange agreement with Chiba University. First, please confirm whether your university has an agreement with Chiba University. Application requirements and schedules vary by program; for details, please see the “About Each Program” section below.
